Dr. Amgad Farouk is an expert on minimally invasive surgery in the Urology Department of Medcare. He holds a PhD from Cairo University, Egypt, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy, USA.
Dr. Farouk has been a faculty at the Beni-Suef University in Egypt. He is a member of a number of medical associations related to his area of expertise. These include the Emirates Society of Urology, the Emirates Medical Association, the Egyptian Urological Association, Society internacionale D’Urologie, the International Society for Men’s Health, the European Association of Urology and the American Urological Association.

Dr. Farouk performs a wide range of specialised procedures, including flexible endoscopic stone treatment and laser lithotripsy, endoscopic treatment of kidney, ureter and bladder stones. He uses extracorporeal shock – wave lithotripsy (ESWL) for the treatment of urinary stones. He is an expert at performing endoscopic procedures such as resection of prostate and incision of the urethra. He performs transrectal ultrasound together with abdominopelvic urological ultrasound.

Dr. Farouk provides treatment for a number of conditions, including male and female sexual dysfunction, male impotence and infertility, management of uro-oncology cases, female continence problems. He treats bladder disorders like neurogenic bladder, overactive bladder and painful bladder disorders. He conducts urodynamic studies for various bladder disorders.

Dr. Hamdy Aboutaleb completed his graduation (MBBCh) from the Minoufiya University , Egypt in 1993. He then went on to complete his Masters in Urology (MSc) in 1998 and his MD in Urology in 2004 from the same institution. In 2003 and 2004 Dr. Hamdy was awarded Fellowships from the Toronto General Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada respectively. He has also acquired a diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the Strasbourg University in France, 2015.

Dr. Hamdy started his career in 1995 at the Minoufiya University as a Senior Resident initially and then as an Assistant Lecturer of Urology. He then in 2001 assumed the post of Research /Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Urology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Canada. In 2004, Dr. Hamdy rejoined the Minoufiya University as initially a Lecturer of Urology and became an Assistant Professor of Urology in 2010 and subsequently became Professor of Urology in March 2017. Post 2006, Dr. Hamdy practiced as a visiting consultant in Egyptian hospitals which include the International Hospitals and the Police Hospital. Dr. Hamdy was also the Medical Director of the Menoufia University Hospital  in Egypt. In 2008, he joined the Sheikh Zayed Specialized hospital in Egypt as the Head of Urology Department. After a brief stint in Yemen in 2013, he joined a private hospital in Abu Dhabi also as a Consultant Urologist.

Dr. Hamdy has more than 20 years of experience in his field. His key areas of interest include Pediatric Urology as well as Laparoscopic & Endourological Surgeries. He has a keen interest for research and has published a large number of papers in well-known publications with novel techniques in Urology. Dr Nadeem Haider is a consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Ajman. He has trained between Ireland, UK and New Zealand. Dr Haider received his fellowship in paediatric surgery along with his CCT from The Royal College of Surgeons. He also has fellowships in paediatric surgery from the Royal Australasian College OF Surgeons as well another fellowship from the European Board.

Prior to coming to UAE he was a consultant surgeon and clinical senior lecturer with the University of Otago in New Zealand. His scope of practise includes paediatric (including minimally invasive surgery) and neonatal surgery, thoracic surgery, paediatric vascular anomalies and paediatric endoscopy.

Dr Haider has over 20 international publications and has also written 2 book chapters. (On Neuroblastoma and Barret’s Oesophagus in Children)

These include the recent published TISU trial on ureteric stones, UK-ROPE registry on prostate artery embolisation, and uCARE global stent study. An examiner for FRCS(Urol) for the past 5 years. With a busy comprehensive clinical practice covering prostate and stone disease, he remains committed to offering high quality endourology training and pushing forward both clinical and basic science research.

Rizwan Hamid is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the University College London Hospitals and London Spinal Injuries Unit, Stanmore, UK and a Honorary Associate Professor at UCL.

He undertook specialist urological training in London with fellowship in functional and neurourology at Institute of Urology, London. Rizwan was the first non-European qualified urologist appointed at UCLH in open interview. His doctoral thesis was investigating fertility issues in spinal cord injury men resulting in a MD from UCL.

He specialises in Female Urology & Neuro-Urology and provides a tertiary care practice in reconstruction of the lower urinary tract.

Complementing his experience in general urological conditions, Rizwan specialises in conservative and surgical management of bladder dysfunction in both male and females. He has particular interest in managing overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, infections and bladder pain in both sexes.

He has a keen interest in treating men’s health conditions like prostate issues and erectile dysfunction

Rizwan is an internationally acknowledged expert in the management of bladder dysfunction after neurological diseases.

He undertakes all surgical procedures in functional urology with particular interest in the use of Botulinum toxin and sacral neuromodulation for bladder dysfunction and slings and sphincters for urinary incontinence.

Rizwan has been a principal investigator for a number of clinical trials. He set up and is the principal investigator for a European wide registry for male anti-incontinence surgery.

Rizwan is the Director of School of Neurourology of International Continence Society (ICS) and Chair of the Neuro-urology Promotion Committee. He sits on the Boards of Female and Functional sections of European Association of Urology.

He has been involved in a number of guidelines initiatives including co-chair for terminology in Neuro-Urology and male surgical procedures. He is also a member of Neuro-urology guidelines panel of European Association of Urology.

In addition to clinical side, Rizwan enjoys the academic and teaching aspect of Urology. He is regularly invited to lecture and chair at major international meetings and invited to review articles for a number of urology journals. He is on the Editorial Boards of Neurourology & Urodynamics and Turkish urology journal.

He has published more than 100 peer reviewed articles and has been invited to contribute a number of review articles and guidelines initiatives. He has authored more than 15 book chapters.

Sanjay B. Kulkarni, MD, MS, Diploma Urology (London), FRCS (Glasgow), Hon. FRCS(London) is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in urethral reconstruction. He underwent Urology training in England from 1981 to 1986. He was trained by Mr Richard Turner Warwick, considered as father of urethral reconstruction. Dr Kulkarni returned to motherland India to serve the people of his country. His wife Dr Jyotsna Kulkarni and Sanjay were pioneer in introducing Laparoscopy in India. They started India’s first animal lab for Laparoscopy training. Dr Kulkarni established Centre for Reconstructive Urology in 1995. The centre performs one of the largest number of Genito-Urinary Reconstructive Surgeries in the world today. The centre is ethical and no patient is denied surgery for economic grounds. Kulkarni School of Urethral Surgery was established in 2006. The centre is engaged in permanent educational activities for urologists who are interested in the in-depth training in reconstructive urethral surgery. They conduct an operative workshop on a weekend once every month where about 8-10 Urologists from India and abroad attend inside the OR and watch surgeries LIVE. Kulkarni School of Urethral Surgery is very popular amongst the urologists. This is a purely academic activity with no registration fees. Dr Kulkarni invented many techniques of reconstruction. The “Kulkarni Urethroplasty” for pan urethral stricture is popular around the world.

He was awarded “President’s Gold Medal” by the Urology Society of India for outstanding contribution to Urology in India in 2011. Dr Kulkarni was the President of the society of Genito Urinary Reconstructive Surgeons in 2014.In 2016 Dr Sanjay Kulkarni was awarded “Dr BC Roy” award by the President of India for developing new speciality. In 2017 he was conferred Honorary membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and made Honorary member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons. He currently serves as the President of the Society International de Urology, SIU (2019-20).

Dr Zaki Almallah is Consultant Urologist Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi since 2017.
Dr Zaki Almallah, was trained at the University Hospital Birmingham, UK and was appointed as consultant urologist in 2003, he was one of the youngest consultants in his field at that time. He founded the Birmingham Bladder Clinic the first specialised clinic to treat a wide range of bladder and voiding dysfunction. Patients travelled from further afield, like Germany and Ireland to seek his advice and expertise.

Dr Zaki Almallah has renowned expertise in managing patients with urinary problems following prostate cancer treatment and has published widely on the complications on radical prostatectomy. Dr Zaki Almallah has lectured regularly in the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the American Urological Annual Scientific conferences.

Dr Zaki Almallah current research focus is the role of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and the impact on future urological practice.
